In February of 2023, twenty-five Grove City College alumni, family members, and friends headed to Cairo, Egypt for tour focused on the Nile and a multitude of historic sites, some more than 5,000 years old, while other ancient Egyptian sites predate Christ by only a few hundred years. The civilization we set out to explore existed in various conditions for more than 3,000 years. A civilization so old, they arguably invented archaeology — to learn about their own history.

We were about to head up the Nile, to the south, from Cairo all the way to Aswan at the first cataract on the Nile river. We would walk among the great pyramids, ride camels, sail the nile, visit ancient temples at Esna, Edfu, Kim Ombo, and Elephantine Island, meet a working farm family, and travel into the land of the dead on the west bank of the Nile.

Photo Memory Book

The photo memory book for this trip is available through Printique (formerly AdoramaPix). The pages are filled with images that are sure to bring back memories for past visitors and to share with friends and family.

This book is thick (1"), fairly hefty, and amazing! It is 98 pages long and has more than 440 images on its pages. As of September 2023, Printique charges about $250 for a copy (before promotions), certainly non-trivial, but the quality is amazing. The pages are stiff and covered in real photographic print images. The Luster finish presents sharp images in a fingerprint-resistant finish The book includes contributions from a number of participants. I want to thank them for letting me use their images.
